Individualized and Person-Centered

Founded by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst®, Synthesis Behavior provides Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) as part of Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs). An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is conducted by a qualified professional outside the school district. Parents who disagree with a school district’s evaluation may request an IEE at public expense. When the evaluation is focused on behavior, a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is conducted, providing parents and caregivers with an independent, objective perspective on their child’s unique behavioral profile within the educational setting.

Creating supportive and inclusive environments begins with understanding each learner’s unique needs and preferences. I collaborate with families, advocates, and school teams to identify learner needs, support growth, and inform decision-making. I approach every evaluation through a neurodivergent-affirming, strengths-based lens to identify supports that respect autonomy, promote safety, and center self-determination to help learners participate in the school community in meaningful and socially inclusive ways that enhance learning, belonging, and overall quality of life.

Each evaluation includes a comprehensive records review, interviews with parents and school staff, direct observations, and individualized recommendations. I also attend the Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting to review the report and help families and educators understand the findings, facilitating collaborative planning for effective support.

As an approved contractor with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), I serve students within the district and throughout the Los Angeles area. Services are also available on a private basis.
